HOMEWOOD — A Trussville resident died in a traffic accident that took place near an intersection in Homewood on Friday night, according to Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates of the Jefferson County Coroner/Medical Examiner’s Office.
The resident, identified as Harry James Bailey, 52, was involved in the accident at around 6:20 p.m. on Friday when he turned into oncoming traffic near the intersection of Green Springs and West Valley Avenue in Homewood. Police from the Homewood department have not yet been able to determine why he turned onto traffic.
Bailey was taken to Brookwood Hospital where he passed away at 7:01 p.m.
Homewood police continue to investigate the case.
