TRUSSVILLE — Hewitt-Trussville will open the 2018 football season with a pair of Georgia teams.
The schedule was released today.
The Huskies will take on Cedar Grove, Ga., at the Hoover Met in a doubleheader with Hoover on Saturday, Aug. 25. The Bucs are expected to face Pinson Valley.
Cedar Grove was 13-1 last season, losing in the state semifinals.
The following Friday, the Huskies will travel to West Fosythe, Ga. The Wolves of Cumming, Ga., outside Atlanta, went 7-4 and made the playoffs last season.
West Fosythe will return the game in 2019.
All but one of the remaining games are all Class 7A, Region 3 games. The Huskies will host Class 6A Huffman on Sept. 28.
In region games, Hewitt will host Oak Mountain (Sept. 7) and Hoover (Sept. 14), travel to Spain Park (Sept. 21) and Vestavia Hills (Oct. 5), host Mountain Brook (Oct. 12) and Tuscaloosa County (Oct. 19) and close at Thompson (Oct. 26).
Also, the Huskies will travel to Gadsden City fo the spring game on May 11.
