TRUSSVILLE –In 1943, World War II was still raging. Bing Crosby, Glen Miller, and Frank Sinatra were dominating the music charts. But the most significant event for one Trussville couple was saying, “I do.”
Seventy-five years later, on March 5, Edward and Jean Roper are still keeping their vow.
Edward Roper, a World War II veteran, is still tending to chores on his 85 acre farm and Jean Roper is still cooking breakfast for her hubby.
The blissful couple celebrated the special occasion a day early with a Sunday lunch at the Cracker Barrel.
The Ropers have three sons, seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren and one on the way.
