ST. CLAIR COUNTY — The Alabama Department of Transportation is planning to close the southbound lane of I-59 from the south of Ashville exit to north of the St. Clair Springs exit. The closing will happen in the morning of March 19.
With weather permitting, clearing operations are slated to take place at 8 a.m. for tree and debris removal. All travel lanes are expected to reopen by around 7 p.m.
The lane will undergo another closure from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and March 20 to 24.
Travelers are asked to “consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area.”
