From The Trussville Tribune staff reports
A Springville man has pleaded guilty to possession of child porn, according to Carol Robinson. Jeremiah Christian King was arrested in 2013 after agents from the Alabama Bureau of Investigation conducted an investigation into his online activities.
King’s computer was found to have more than 100 child pornographic images.
King was first arrested in Blount County but a judge dismissed the charges, finding that the arrest warrant affidavits were insufficient. King then fled to Florida after a Blount County Grand Jury issued indictments against him.
Officers from the U.S. Marshal’s Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force tracked King to a hotel in Florida where he was said to have been found wearing Harry Potter clothing and playing video games. A lengthy trial began where King’s attorneys argued that authorities illegally took his images through malware as they conducted their investigations.
After he pleaded guilty in court, King was sentenced to over eight years in prison.
