CENTER POINT — According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, a carjacking that took place on Tuesday night resulted in the victim being shot and taken to a hospital with a non-life threatening injury.
The sheriff’s office reported that the incident occurred at the 2000 block of 4th Street Northeast in Center Point just after 9 p.m. Detectives responded to the scene and interviewed the victim, who is an adult male that said he had been shot by a man that he knew as “Smoke”.
He told detectives that he parked his car and left it to look for the man known as Smoke. When he returned he found Smoke sitting in his car. He said that Smoke shot him before fleeing the scene in the vehicle.
This incident is an ongoing investigation.
