BLOUNT COUNTY –A single-vehicle crash at 10:23 p.m. on Friday claimed the life of a Blount County teen, according to the Alabama State Troopers Office.
A 1995 Ford Mustang driven by a 16-year-old left the roadway on Alabama Highway 79 and struck several trees, Trooper Gary Daniel said.
A 15-year-old passenger, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. A second 15-year-old passenger, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected.
The driver and surviving passenger were transported to UAB Hospital. The crash occurred four miles south of Locust Fork.
No further details are available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
