JASPER — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the rest of a burglar that stole firearms from Pat’s Archery and Outdoors in Jasper. The investigation is being conducted in conjunction with the Jasper Police Department and the National Shooting Sports Foundation.
On April 9, the store located at 306 Highway 78 West in Jasper, was burglarized by unknown suspects that took approximately eight firearms, according to the ATF. The incident was reported to the Jasper Police Department, which contacted the ATF.
Video surveillance captured images of the suspects and of a car at the scene.
In addition to the $2,500 reward by the ATF, the National Shooting Sports Foundation is also offering $2,500 for a total of $5,000.
“This reward is part of a larger national cooperative initiative between the NSSF and ATF in which NSSF matches ATF’s reward in cases involving the theft of firearms from federally licensed firearms retailers,” the ATF said in a press release. “ATF works closely with members of the firearm industry to curb the criminal acquisition and misuse of firearms.”
Anyone with information on the crime are asked to call the ATF at (800) ATF-GUNS (1-800-283-4867) or Crime Stoppers at (205) 254-7777. Information can also be sent to mobile app www.reportit.com by using the Nashville Field Division as the location.
