On Wednesday, April 25, the Trussville City Schools Board of Education had a long list of student recognitions.
The HTMS had the highest number of students chosen from schools in the metro Birmingham area. This is the second year in a row to achieve this and a record number of students chosen from HTMS breaking the record of 23 chosen in 2014.
The HTMS wrestling team was undefeated for the season and are Metro Champions. Team members are pictured below performing a TCS Board of Education walk of fame. There were six HTMS students who won Metro Championships in their weight class. These included Chris Weaver, Derrick Davis, Logan Reeves, Lucas Reeves, Andrew Shelton, and Hunter Jones.
The HTHS wrestling team placed 4th at the state wrestling tournament. The team finished in the top 4 at sectionals and qualified for the state dual meet.Three athletes won state titles including Stone Barden, Conner Smith and Cale Land.

The HTHS girls basketball received the title of regular season area tournament champions with a final record of 25-4. The head coach, Tonya Hunter, introduced her team before the TCS walk of fame. Team members are: Jada Jenkins, Morgan Kirk, Leah Harrison, Christina Till, London Coleman, Whitney Winchester, Erica Jones, Londyn Johnson-Yates, Amiya Payne, Trinity Lockett, and Anyce Harvey.
Athletic Director, Lance Walker, was also recognized for being awarded the Best WebSite Design by Alabama School Public Relations (ALSPRA).
Other awards included the Best Communities for Music Education presented to the Trussville City Schools from the NAMM Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education.
