From the Trussville Tribune staff reports
Trussville High School coach, Tom McCormick, reported that the The Trussville High school girls and boys both made the Lacrosse playoffs. The teams will play in the Greater Birmingham Youth Lacrosse Association (GBYLA).
The girls lacrosse team hosted a first round playoff game.
“The girls are 5-7 this year,” said McCormick. “We had a rough start going 0-4, but won 4 games in a row to get into position to host a playoff game.”
McCormick said that this is the second time the teams made the payoff in GBYLA.
“We have a very young team, with only 7 upperclassmen out of 28 players,” he said. “We do have a senior on our team who signed to play lacrosse at the University of Montevallo. Another young lady is second in scoring with 44 goals and nine assist this season.”
The girl’s lacrosse team first round will be played this Sunday, May 6 beginning at 5 p.m. at the Trussville Sports Complex. The boy’s lacrosse team will play this Sunday in Auburn beginning at 4 p.m. at Duck Samford Stadium.
