BESSEMER — A robbery suspect was shot by a police officer during what appeared to be a holdup of a Hibbet Sports store in Bessemer, according to Carol Robinson.
The shooting occurred around noon after the suspect entered the store and employees called authorities. An officer responded to the call, leading to the shooting.
The suspect’s injuries are believed to not be life-threatening and the officer was not injured in the incident.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and the Bessemer Cutoff District Attorneys Office are investigating.
