BIRMINGHAM – The Alabama State Troopers have arrested Anthony Embry, 45, on an Arrest Warrant, Fleeing the Scene of an Accident, on May 7, 2018.
Mr. Embry was arrested without incident at his home and was placed in the Jefferson County Jail. Bond was set at $15,000.00.
This arrest was in reference to an Alabama State Trooper being involved in a three vehicle crash on I-59 south bound at 22 street, on May 2, 2018.
The Trooper was working in the down town construction zone when the crash occurred and was parked in the inside lane with emergency lights activated.
A dually pick-up truck and a passenger car struck the Troopers vehicle from behind.
The Trooper sustained serious non-life threatening injuries and was admitted to UAB for observation after suffering a concussion.
The occupants of the other vehicles were also injured. DUI is suspected as a factor in this crash. The crash continues to be investigated.
One of the drivers, Embry, who was taken to UAB Highlands fled from the hospital prior to our investigators arrival to the hospital.
