HUNTSVILLE –The Hewitt-Trussville Huskies started things off right in the North Regional in Huntsville by taking down Buckhorn 9-1.
A bases loaded walk scored Hannah Dorsett in the second inning to put Hewitt up 1-0.
Buckhorn tied the game with a solo homerun in the 3rd, but that would be the only run they could muster on the day.
The Huskies added three runs in the fourth inning, four in the fifth, and one in the sixth.
Tate Mosley, Abigail Dorsett, and Cyrstal Maze collected 2 hits each. Anyce Harvey had 3 RBI while Kailey Walters add two.
Molly Cobb got the win on the mound splitting time with Hayden Neugent. The pair combined to give up only 4 hits on the day.
The Huskies play again at 4:30 p.m.
