TUSCALOOSA –The Springville Tigers are headed back to the state tournament after a 3-0 win over Motimer Jordan. The three-time defending state 5A champs will get the chance to pick up their fourth consecutive title.
Friday’s win was methodical and workman-like as the Lady Tigers took it one inning at a time.
The first run came when Heather LeVan was hit by a pitch, forcing in a run. The Tigers scored again in the 6th off of a Dakota Dorsett RBI line drive double. In the seventh, Piper Long hammered an RBI single to bring in the final run.
Abby Swaney struck out six and scattered 5 hits over seven innings to pick up the win for Springville.
