FULTON COUNTY, GA. — Matthew Lee Moore, a former prison guard from Springville, has been denied bond at a Georgia court, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Moore has been accused of perpetrating several rapes in Alabama and outside of the state, with one assault alleged to have taken place in Fulton County in Georgia.
The bond was denied by Judge Craig L. Schwall.
According to the report, Schwall said that Moore represented a danger and was a flight risk.
“People would think I had lost my mind if I granted (Moore) bond,” he was quoted as saying during the bond hearing. “This man is a flight risk and a danger to the community.”
Moore was connected to several rape cases using DNA analysis. He is alleged to have perpetrated a rape in Homewood and Birmingham.
