MOUNTAIN BROOK – A woman was robbed of her purse by an unknown suspect last night, according to Carol Robinson. The suspect grabbed by her wrist during the robbery but she was otherwise unharmed.
At about 8:16 p.m. last night, police were dispatched to the 200 block of Rele Street in Mountain Brook where they learned that a 44-year-old woman was walking to her vehicle parked in front of an apparel store. As she was approaching her vehicle, she was grabbed by the suspect, who she said stole her purse. He was last seen fleeing the scene southbound on Rele Street.
The suspect was described as a black male. Inaccurate reports that the woman’s car was stolen had been put online but police have clarified that only her purse had been stolen.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
