TRUSSVILLE – Four girls and two boys from the Trussville lacrosse team will be playing this Saturday, May 19 in the Alabama Lacrosse Associations’ (ALA) All-Star Showcase hosted at the University of Montevallo.
The showcase consists of 25 girls/boys from the league verses 25 from other teams. For example, number of even teams play the odd teams (1,3,5,7,9 vs 2,4,6,8,10.)
Trussville lacrosse boys, Garren Nowell and Alex Lange, Team Blue, will hit the fields at 1 p.m. on Saturday for the showcase. Trussville lacrosse girls, Zoe Carter, Abbie Curlee, Hailey Wilcox and Lily McCormick, Team Red, are scheduled to play beginning at 3 p.m.
The ALA will recognize members, Carter, McCormick and Willcox, as the 2018 Alabama All-State Second Team winners.
Girl’s coach, Tom McCormick, shares his excitement on the girl’s recognition.
“The All-State is high honor,” said McCormick. “This honor recognizes the most selective girls in the league and state. We are excited that these three young ladies were chosen, considering we were ranked seventh in the league,” says McCormick.
