The Trussville Barons came away victorious after a regional championship game against the Vestavia Hills Monarchs on May 10 in Spain Park. The tournament was the final game in the Young Men’s Baseball Association metro league-B Division.
“The YMBA is an organized, competitive baseball league for 15-18 year old high school boys,” according to a statement. “The A Division includes high school Juniors and Seniors; the B Division includes teams of Freshmen and Sophomores. The Trussville Barons were one of two teams competing to represent the Trussville Baseball Association in the league.”
The Barons were able to finish the regular season at 11-5.
Members of the team are: Luke Aaron, Britton Best, Logan Blank, Trevor Brown, Austin DeHart, Davis Harper, McKennley McDonald, Ryan Owens, Christian Smith, and Drake Wingard, with Matt DeHart as head coach and assistants Roger Harper, Eldridge McDonald, and Pete Blank.
