CENTER POINT — Two men were arrested by sheriff’s deputies early this morning as they were about to allegedly break into a pawn shop in Center Point.
At around 1 a.m. this morning, deputies were called to a U-Haul lot in the 100 block of 21stAve Northeast. When they arrived, they found Raimon Dysart, 26, in front of Lee’s Pawn Shop. According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, he was detained and a handgun was found on him.
Deputies investigated the area further and found a car, as well as bolt cutters behind the pawn shop. Langston Thomas, 24, was found nearby and was detained. After they were questioned, they admitted to planning to break into the shop.
Dysart was charged with possession of burglary tools, unlawful possession of marijuana, and carrying a pistol without license. Thomas was charged with possession of burglary tools, unlawful possession of marijuana and obstructing government operations.
Both have posted bond and have been released pending court proceedings.
