CALHOUN COUNTY –A three-vehicle crash at 1 p.m. on Thursday has claimed the life of a 21-year-old woman.
Kaylia Jordania Stark, 21, of Anniston was traveling west on Alabama Highway 144, attempting to turn left onto Boiling Springs Road, when the 2016 Nissan Versa she was driving was struck in the rear by a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox.
The collision pushed her vehicle into the eastbound lane of Alabama Highway 144, where it was struck by a 2014 Humvee, belonging to the Alabama National Guard. Stark, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Chevrolet Equinox was identified as Jessica McClain of Glencoe. The driver of the Humvee was identified as Alan Spears of New Hope. McClain and Spears were not injured in the crash.
The crash occurred one mile east of Ohatchee. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
