ST. CLAIR COUNTY –To say Friday was a busy day for Alabama State Troopers in St. Clair County would be an understatement.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, troopers worked 20 separate crashes on Interstate 20 on Friday between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. Most, but not all, were weather related, Trooper Corporal Steve Smith said.
“The crashes resulted in several hours of traffic delays,” Smith said. “Most all crashes were weather related. I have no information on injuries. They started crashing at 4:16 pm and the last crashing was at 8:48 pm. They were between the 149 mm and 157 mm on both east and west bound lanes.”
Smith said 14 wreckers were used throughout the day.

Six additional crashes worked but were not weather related.
