BIRMINGHAM- The newly organized Alliance of American Football has selected Birmingham as a host city to bring professional football back to the Magic City.
Former NFL quarterback and Alliance executive Michael Vick made the announcement on Monday, June 4 via twitter.
“We are excited to announce Birmingham as the next city to play in Alliance!” Vick announced.
This is the most recent professional football team for Birmingham since the Alabama Outlaws disbanded in the spring of 2017.
The Alliance of American Football will start its inaugural season on February 9, 2019, one week after the Super Bowl.
