Glenda “Sister Glenn” Mashayekh, age 69 of Bessemer passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018.
Glenda was a 1966 graduate of Hewitt Trussville High School. She retired from ACIPCO after working there for almost 45 years. Glenda was an avid Auburn fan who stood her ground while surrounded by a family of Alabama fans.
She was a loving wife, mother, and Gigi who always put everyone’s needs before hers. She was always smiling regardless of the situation. One of her favorite sayings, especially when things were going South, was “Aren’t we having fun now?’ Gigi was always ready for a snuggle with the grand kids while sneaking them the chocolate they wanted. We will see you in Heaven. Love you Kiddo.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, George and Jean Glenn. She is survived by her husband, Hamid Mashayekh; her children, Hamid Mashayekh Jr. (Jayme) and Leila Avant (Craig); her grandchildren, Ashton and Gavin Avant and Grayson and Rylie Mashayekh; her brothers George “Toody” Glenn, Gene “Slatz” Glenn (Pat), William “Billy” Glenn (Lynn) and Robert “Bobby” Glenn (Robin); and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 5 pm until 6 pm at Trussville First United Methodist Church followed by a Celebration of Life service at 6 pm. Pastor Bill Etheridge officiating. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in honor of Glenda Mashayekh.
