BIRMINGHAM — Two men have been arrested for allegedly burglarizing a church in Birmingham and causing thousands of dollars in damages, according to the Birmingham Police Department.
On June 5, members of Nichols Temple AME Church found damage to several doors of the building as well as damage to toilets and urinals. Damages are estimated to be over $50,000.
Surveillance footage at the property captured images of two suspects breaking into the church. The footage was posted to Facebook where people in the community watched and were able to help authorities identify the suspects.
Nicholas Lee, 23, of Birmingham was arrested along with Cedric Carter, 19, also of Birmingham. Both are being held at the Jefferson County Jail.
