SHELBY COUNTY — A single vehicle crash in Shelby County claimed the life of a 38-year-old man from Vincent, reported the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Richard Keith Rodgers was identified as the victim in a crash that occurred at about 5 a.m. on Thursday, June 21. He was the lone occupant of a 2009 Nissan Sentra and was traveling at what ALEA said was a high rate of speed.
Rodger’s vehicle left the right shoulder of the road and struck a utility pole. Driving under the influence and the high rate of speed are believed by State Troopers to be “contributing factors” in the crash.
