BIRMINGHAM — One of the victims killed in recent shootings in Birmingham has been identified as a 20-year-old man from Center Point. He was among two others killed on Friday night and Saturday morning in separate shootings in Birmingham.
Kijuan Ulysses Harrell of Center Point was identified as the victim by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
According to the Birmingham Police Department, officers from the South Precinct responded to a report of a man shot at the 500 block of Valley Avenue. When they arrived to the location, they found the victim inside a parked vehicle. He was taken to UAB Hospital but was later pronounced dead.
“Preliminary investigation revealed the victim may have been a bystander caught in crossfire,” said BPD Sgt. Bryan Shelton in a statement. “Another male was in the vehicle at the time of the shooting, but was not injured. No suspects have been identified at this time.”
