From The Trussville Tribune staff reports
TRUSSVILLE — Trussville will be among other cities where the American Red Cross will be present to collect donations as part of its “Missing Types” campaign to prevent blood shortages this summer.
On July 5, the American Red Cross will be at Trussville Civic Center from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The “Missing Types” campaign aims to raise awareness about shortages and the need for donors.
“While thousands of donors have answered the call to donate blood, more donors are needed now to help ensure blood types don’t go missing,” Red Cross said in a statement. “During the summer, especially around holidays like Independence Day, donations often don’t keep pace with patient needs.”
Appointments to donate can be made by visiting RedCrossBlood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
The Trussville Civic Center is located at 5381 Trussville-Clay Rd.
