ANNAPOLIS, MD — An active shooter situation has been reported at a newspaper in Annapolis, Maryland, according to the Baltimore Sun. Several people were killed during the shooting.
The incident took place at the Capital Gazette, a newspaper owned by the Baltimore Sun. According to the report, a gunman is said to have shot through the glass of the office and started shooting at people inside.
The Baltimore Sun reports that multiple people were shot. Police, included the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Expolsives, responded to the scene and evacuated the building.
Annapolis police confirmed that at least five were killed. Multiple people were injured.
The victims were identified as: Rob Hiaasen, 59; Wendi Winters, 65; Gerald Fischman, 61; John McNamara, 56; and Rebecca Smith, 34.
The Baltimore Sun reported that the shooter was taken into custody. He has been identified as Jarrod Ramos and he faces first degree murder charges.
