TRUSSVILLE – On Tuesday evening the Trussville City Council approved promoting two firefighters to the rank of assistant fire chief.
Captain Jeff Fore and Battalion Chief Phillip Keith McLaughlin both were promoted at the meeting to serve under Trussville’s Fire Chief Tim Shotts.
Councilor Alan Taylor expressed his appreciation to the two men and to an overflowing roomful of firefighters, rescue workers and families.
“Congratulations to both Fore and McLaughlin,” said Taylor. “We are appreciative for the work they have already been doing in our city. They both have huge responsibilities, done a great job, and come highly recommended from the Chief. It is a great honor and great for our city. Thank you for all you do.”
Fore was hired in 1998 as a fire fighter with the Trussville Fire Department. He was promoted to the fire marshal’s office serving as assistant fire marshal in 2007 and later promoted to the city’s Fire Marshal in 2016. Fore will continue to serve as Fire Marshal for the department along with fulfilling his new role as assistant fire chief under Chief Shotts.
McLaughlin was hired with the department in 1999 as a Battalion Chief (Shift C) serving as both paramedic and fire fighter. His promotion comes after many years dedicated to serving the community and Trussville Fire Department.
