BIRMINGHAM — Officers from the Birmingham Police Department are investigating the homicide of a person who was found shot.
At around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, officers from the West Precinct responded to a report of a person shot on 111 Avenue V. When they arrived, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was taken to UAB Hospital by Birmingham Fire and Rescue but was later pronounced dead. The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of family.
Investigators are currently trying to locate possible witnesses to the crime, according to the BPD.
