BIRMINGHAM — The Alabama Department of Transportation is expecting traffic delays in Birmingham as the Central Business District Interchange and Bridge Replacement Project continues. Two phases will be implemented in the coming days.
For Phase 1:
I-65 Southbound from 6th Avenue North to University single (left) lane will close on Saturday, July 14; Sunday, July 15 and Saturday, July 20 at 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on each day.
I-65 Northbound from the 12th Court Bridge to the 16th Street Bridge single (left) lane will close on Saturday, July 14 and Sunday, July 15 at 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. on each day.
For Phase 2:
I-59/20 Southbound from 31st Street to Carraway double (right) lane will close on Friday, July 13 at 8 p.m. until Sunday, July 15 at 5 a.m.
I-59/20 Southbound from 31st Street to Carraway’s double left lane closure (or triple lane closure) will take place on Friday, July 20th at 8 p.m. until Sunday, July 22 at 5 a.m.
I-59-20’s Southbound through the I-65 Interchange double lane closures will take place on Friday, July 13 until Sunday, July 15.
