From The Trussville Tribune staff reports
SPRINGVILLE – St. Clair County Sav-A-Life will be offering post abortion healing classes this fall to women who have been touched by abortion.
Sav-a-Life is a comprehensive pregnancy care ministry that is dedicated to offering free and confidential services in a loving environment to women, men, and families facing an unplanned pregnancy.
According to Director Angie Cantrell, their goal is to raise awareness about the services that they provide for families facing an unplanned pregnancy and to women who have experienced a past abortion.
Roughly 23.7%, one in four women, in America will have an abortion before the age of 45 years, according to a study by Guttmacher Institute.
“We are offering a 12-week Bible study in August, Forgiven and Set Free, to walk them through this healing process. They just need to know that we are here to walk with them on this journey of healing.”
Cantrell adds that the study be confidential.
“I believe this is one of the most powerful aspects of our ministry,” said Cantrell. “Many women who have an abortion carry shame and guilt silently for many, many years, feeling that she can never be forgiven. These women are in our community and in church who need healing from the scars of abortion. Forgiven and Set Free truly sets her free from that shame and guilt. It is an amazing transformation!”
Cantrell adds that three volunteers who currently serve with Sav-A-Life will be leading the class in the fall, all who have personally experienced healing from this class.
The St. Clair County Sav-A-Life in Springville will host the Forgiven and Set Free abortion healing classes in mid August. Cantrell says that interested individuals need to register by early August.
