ALABASTER — On Monday evening, a four-year-old girl was killed after a train collided with car that she was riding in with her mother. The mother was airlifted to UAB Hospital after the accident.
According to CBS 42, the collision happened on Highway 31 and Fulton Springs. The girl, Sharon Smith, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Shelby County Coroner’s Office. The mother was listed in stable condition.
According to the report, the accident occurred on a CSX line.
