BIRMINGHAM – The Birmingham Police Department have obtained a warrant in connection with a homicide investigation that occurred on Sunday August 12, 2018 in Birmingham.
The victim has been identified as Denise Fassel, 55, of Birmingham.
West Precinct officers responded to Fassel’s home to find her unresponsive and was pronounced dead.
The suspect, identified as Cameron Janet Cook, 28, of Birmingham, is also under investigation for 2 robberies that occurred shortly after the homicide.
The suspect was taken into custody the following day by BPD Crime Reduction Team members in the 6000 block of 1stAvenue North Alley.
A Capital Murder warrant has been obtained against Cook, who is now in custody of the Birmingham City Jail.
This case is still under investigation along with the 2 robberies.
