TRUSSVILLE – Trussville Police are searching for a male suspect that was reported with suspicious behavior in the Peppertree neighborhood this afternoon.
The person of interest is a black male with a beard wearing a white shirt and dark pants.
“Residents reported a suspicious person in the Peppertree neighborhood,” said Trussville Police Lt. Phil Dillon. “When our officers arrived, the individual ran into the woods. The Trussville K-9 Unit along with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit are working to continue the search for this individual.”
Dillon said that he does not believe that any homes were burglarized.
Paine Elementary School was also placed on a brief lock-down due to the police presence in the neighborhood.
