BLOUNT COUNTY — On Thursday August 23 starting at approximately 9 a.m., weather permitting, the Alabama Department of Transportation will begin repairs of guardrails in Blount County as follows:
The repairs will begin on I-65 Southbound. After the repairs are complete on I-65 Southbound, they will continue on AL-3 (US-31), AL-160 and AL-74 (US-278).
It is estimated that repairs will take approximately two weeks for completion. There will be lane closures in the work zones, but they will re-open each day at 4 p.m.
Delays can be expected during the work periods and ALDOT is requesting that motorists consider taking alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this Maintenance Operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.
