TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Rotary Daybreak Club plans on hosting the first annual Smokin’ and Stokin’ BBQ Festival on Saturday, September 1 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The festival will be taking place at the parking lot of Hall Motorsports which is located at 6351 South Chalkville Road.
Festivities will include activities for the children, local musicians, sodas, food trucks, BBQ sampling, a corn-hole tournament, and a big screen TV so nobody has to miss out on college football. In addition about 20 teams have registered for a cook-off competition and festival goers will have the chance to vote on their favorite Boston butt.
Activities for the kids and entertainment is free. To participate in sampling the BBQ and voting on a favorite will cost $5 with proceeds will go to funding the Rotary Club and the many projects they champion.
Parking will be available at the First Baptist Church of Trussville and the Trussville branch of the YMCA will provide shuttles to run from the church’s parking lot to the event, starting at 11 a.m.
