JEFFERSON COUNTY — A Jefferson County grand jury has indicted Joseph Allan Farmer, a former teacher at Pinson Valley High School, on charges of a school employee engaging in sexual contact with a student, first-degree sex abuse and first-degree sodomy; according to Carol Robinson of Al.com.
Information from the sheriff’s office indicates that the victim initially informed the principal of sexual activity with Farmer. Youth services provided a detective that investigated the situation and questioned Farmer, as a result charges were filed.
According to the victim the sexual activity had started with the school year and continued until the time of her reporting. The sheriff’s office has reported that Farmer admitted to having sexual activity with the victim.
Farmer is currently out of jail on bond.
