From the Trussville Tribune staff reports
TRUSSVILLE – The Trussville Library is participating in the Food for Fines can drive during the month of September. The Food for Fines initiative is a program running throughout Jefferson County, and all 40 library branches, where $1 in fines will be waived per each canned or boxed food donated during the month of September.
These items may be turned in at the circulation desk.
There are, however, a few caveats. There is a ceiling on the number of fines can be waived and the amount is capped at $10 per library card. Also, libraries cannot accept dented cans, rusted cans, damaged items, open packages, or packages with expired dates.
