BOONE, N.C.— Former Hewitt-Trussville Husky quarterback Zac Thomas has been lighting up the football field for the Appalachian State Mountaineers to start the 2018 season.
Thomas was selected as the Sun Belt Conference offensive player of the week after his performance in the Mountaineers 45-9 win over Charlotte on Sept. 8
Thomas was a perfect 14 for 14 passing for 295 yards and three passing touchdowns. He also added 29 yards rushing with a five yard touchdown run.
Through two games in the 2018 season, Thomas is 39 for 52 with 565 yards and five touchdowns through the air. He has 72 yards on 22 attempts and two touchdowns as a rusher.
