BIRMINGHAM – If power crews are needed to assist North and South Carolina, after Hurricane Florence makes landfall, then Alabama Power is prepared to send them, according to WIAT 42.
Katie Bolton, of Alabama Power, said, “Once the storm hits, we’ll regroup. We have some shell plans in place. We’ll regroup and be on the phone with those utilities that are affected and really get our marching orders from there. We’re kind of in a holding pattern right now, but we’re ready to support.”
Bolton also advised that Alabama Power will remain in contact with mutual assistance partners and with Southern Company and that crews could be based on the request of the other utility companies in need.
