CLAY – The Jefferson County Sheriff’s office reports that a 41-year-old north Jefferson County man has been arrested and charged with Burglary 3rd Degree and Criminal Mischief 1st Degree following a break-in at a tobacco shop in Clay.
Just after 10:30 pm on September 9, deputies responded to a burglary alarm at a business in the 2200 block of Brewster Road. When they arrived they found 41-year-old Fadi Rabah reaching inside the business through a shattered window. He was taken into custody.
A review of the surveillance footage from the store showed Rabah first attempt to open the front doors to the business. Then he went to the drive through and broke the window with a large rock. He was attempting to break the lock on a burglar bar with a large rock when deputies arrived and arrested him.
Fadi Rabah was taken to the Jefferson County Jail where he posted bond and was released pending court proceedings.
Rabah is also suspected in two similar break-ins that occurred in Center Point between August 29 and September 8. In each of these cases, windows were busted using a rock to gain entry into the business. In one case surveillance cameras captured images of the suspect outside with a large rock as well as inside the business. He was wearing a black ball cap emblazoned with a red ‘A’ on the front. In the other case, the suspect cut himself on the glass while entering the business leaving blood evidence on the scene. Surveillance images, in this case, showed the suspect wearing a similar ball cap. The investigation into these cases is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
