ETOWAH COUNTY – Acton Bowen, a youth evangelist, has entered a plea of not guilty by reason of mental disorder or defect in regards to several child sex charges, according to Carol Robinson of Al.com.
In June Bowen was indicted by a grand jury for the charges of second-degree sodomy, enticing a child into a vehicle or home for the purpose of a sex act, traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act, facilitating, arranging, providing or paying for the transport of a child for the purpose of a sex act, and second-degree sexual abuse.
Bowen is currently being held in the Etowah County Jail. He is without bond.
