TUSCALOOSA – After a developmentally disabled man shot a University of Alabama student police have arrested the suspect’s caregiver, according to WVTM 13.

After a 21-year-old male was shot in the arm, outside a Tuscaloosa restaurant, on Sunday authorities were able to locate the shooter in a vehicle that had fled the scene.
Authorities soon discovered that the shooter is developmentally disabled and in the care of Javaris Deangelo Dubose. According to police Dubose has left a loaded gun inside the car while he was making restaurant reservations.
Dubose has been charged with reckless endangerment and tampering with physical evidence.
The shooter, who remains unidentified, was taken to a facility for monitoring and evaluation.
The victim of the shooting has been released from the hospital.
