DORA — Two bodies have been identified that were discovered Saturday, September 22 on Interstate 22 in Dora.
Bodies of a Parrish Town Council member and a part-time Jasper police investigator were identified as two people found dead from gunshot wounds inside a vehicle found by an off-duty firefighter according to AL.com.
The Walker County Coroner has identified the victims as John Softley and Monica Cooper. The ages as well as the relationship between the two are not available.
An off-duty firefighter was driving on Interstate, noticed a pickup truck under the overpass off exit 78 in Dora, stopped, looked inside, and spotted a man and a woman inside who appeared to be dead.
Dora police initially responded, along with the Walker County Sheriff’s Office, Walker County District Attorney’s Office, but the State Bureau of Investigation is leading the investigation, with the assistance of the Sheriff’s office.
