BIRMINGHAM – The Birmingham Police detectives are conducting a homicide investigation that occurred Tuesday, September 25, in the 2000 block of 25th Street of Ensley.
The victim who was a black male has not been identified.
At approximately 8:30 p.m., West Precinct officers received a call of a person shot at the location. Officers arrived to find the victim lying in the roadway. Birmingham Fire and Rescue arrived to aid, but the victim was pronounced dead on the scene as a result of his injuries.
Citizens in the area reported hearing a loud altercation just before shots were fired. Shortly after the commotion, a vehicle was heard leaving at a high rate of speed.
Investigators have no suspect information or motive in the incident.
