BIRMINGHAM – The Birmingham Police Department has reported that detectives have made an arrest in connection with a homicide investigation. The incident occurred August 3 in the 300 block of 18th Street North.
On that date, at approximately 10:15 p.m., officers from the North Precinct responded to the incident location to investigate a report of a person shot. The victim was later pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries. Investigators later learned that the victim was involved in an altercation with the suspect about the suspect’s car. The suspect shot the victim from a vehicle as he drove away.
The victim has been identified as Brandon Lewis, a 30-year-old black male, of Birmingham.
The suspect has been identified as Eric Lamont Harrison, a 35-year-old black male, of Birmingham.
A capital murder warrant was obtained against the suspect. The suspect is in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail.
