CLAY— The Clay-Chalkville Cougars defeated the Shades Valley Mounties 31-6 with a stellar performance from quarterback Willie Miller.
Miller accounted for 392 yards of offense individually with 306 yards passing and 86 rushing. The Cougars dominated from the start as they took a 17-0 lead into halftime after Miller ran for a 22 yard and 12 yard touchdown with a Jaren Van Winkle field goal to add to the scoring.
The Mounties were only able to muster up two field goals as the Cougar defense performed well enough to keep them out of the endzone.
Miller found Ben Heller for a 19 yard touchdown in the second half and also ran one more touchdown in from three yards out.
The Cougars travel to Pell City next week with hopes to notch another region win as the playoffs approach.
