BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Police Department has reported that detectives are conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred in the 900 block of 50th Street North.
The victim has been identified as Devin Crowell a 22-year-old black male from Birmingham.
At approximately 3:50 a.m on Sunday, East Precinct officers responded to a call of a person shot at the incident location. After responding, officers located the victim inside a car suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to UAB Hospital for treatment and placed in critical status.
On Wednesday, the victim was pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries which caused the case to be reclassified as a homicide.
