TALLADEGA – This weekend NASCAR heads to the 2.66-mile asphalt track of Talladega Superspeedway. The track is scheduled to host the third race in round one of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in the Fr8Auctions 205.
The Truck Series qualifier for the race on Saturday, October 13, illustrated the dominance of the KBM trucks and the Toyota Racing Development driven by David Gilliland. Rolling off the grid in second beside Gilliland is Spencer Gallagher with his teammate Timothy Peters driving the #25 for GMS racing in third.
But the most dominant driver through both practices was Gallagher, who is making his first Talladega start in the Truck Series.
Last year’s winner Parker Kligerman is still not out of the question for the playoff upsetters and will start in the twentieth position. Other upsetters this race could be Gallagher, David Gilliland, and many more because Talladega is known as the ‘wild card’ in the playoffs.
There are only two drivers in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series who have a winning chance to become a multi-race winner at Talladega this weekend – and they are both playoff drivers.
Grant Enfinger, who won in Talladega in 2016 and Johnny Sauter who won in 2013. If one of the two wins during this weekend, they would join multiple race winners in the record book for the most wins in the series including Kyle Busch, Todd Bodine, Parker Kligerman and Timothy Peters who all hold two wins each.
Talladega’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Fr8Auctions 250 race begins Saturday, October 13 at 12 p.m.
